Dance First is an online dance information and dancewear business serving the Australian and international dance industry. We are very proud of our recent exports to France, UK, USA and New Zealand.

Dance First proprietor Kristen Leonard and her family have combined experience of over 50 years in the dance industry, including teaching, performing and choreography, dancewear manufacturing and retail, and importantly, as dancers' parents. Dance First has recently relocated from Taree to Newcastle, NSW in order to be centre itself in a larger dance community.

Kristen and her family have been tailoring ballet costumes and tutus for Newcastle and Taree clients for the past 35 years and Kristen continues to work directly with studios and parents. Kristen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the design and fit of Dance First dancewear and ballet tutus. She will not compromise on material quality or traditional stitching techniques for the sake of expedience. All costumes and tutus are manufactured from the finest Italian Lycra and European Net, using tailored patterns and traditional stitching techniques. Dance First specialises in the manufacture of Tutus that possess design features which offer the dancer confidence of fit, response to the rigours of dance movement, design flexibility and cost savings.

Products produced in Australia by Dance First include Tutus, Jazz Pants, Leotards, Ballet Skirts, Dancers Daks and Ballet Studio & Eisteddfod Capes. In more recent years Dance First has sourced suppliers of essential dancewear items such as ballet shoes, ballet tights, jazz shoes and tiaras.

The Dance First business in founded on a genuine passion and involvement in the ballet and dance industry, and a committment to offer quality information and products, and "old fashion" service, to dancers, dance parents and studios.
