Sizing

Ballet Shoes:

For ease of fitting Dance First ballet shoes are sized in centimetres (e.g. Size 23.5 = 23.5cm) and are available in narrow and medium widths. Shoe sizes range from 14 to 27cm.

Sizes relate to the length of the foot, from the back of the heal to the front of the toes. To determine the correct shoe size place the back of the heal against a wall and measure from the wall to the tip of the longest toe. For growing feet add 2cm. Ballet shoes should be a firm fit for mature students and for performance, so for older students it is advisable to buy shoes in a size that equals the foot length or is slightly longer (i.e. add 1cm)

Jazz Shoes:

Jazz shoe sizes are close to normal shoe sizes. It is advisable to purchase the equivalent size to your normal shoe size.

Footed & Convertible Tights:

The design of the knit of Dance First's tights allows maximum stretch and memory.

Footed Tights offer the convenience of one size for child and one size for adults. Child size fits Girls Size 5 to 11; Adult Size fits from Girls Size 11 up. You will be surprised by the range of sizes that these tights accommodate. 

Convertible Tights are available in sizes Child, Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large & Adult Extra Large.

Shimmer Tights:

Dance First Shimmer Tights are available in four sizes - Child Small, Child Med/Large, Adult Small/Med. and Adult Large/Extra-Large. The following charts provide an indication of appropriate sizes.

Ballet Studio & Eisteddfod Capes:

Capes are available in 3 sizes - Small, Medium and Large.

Small: for 8 years and under - finish length 85cm from shoulder

Medium: for 8 - 10 years - Finish length 90cm from shoulder

Large: for teens to adult - Finish length 115cm from shoulder
